La Rosa
I am Paulina, from the north of Chile but currently living in Santiago. I am a designer and illustrator by profession, and the creator of La Rosa Estudio, a project that was born from a personal exploration mixing illustration and stoneware ceramics. Currently, I focus on creating and designing everyday and decorative ceramic pieces. I also continue illustrating both for my project and for different clients.
I am very, very, very inspired by childhood memories, like summers in San Isidro (Elqui Valley) with my grandparents, playing with my cousins, playing, playing, and playing, eating lemon with salt, peaches, prickly pears, and grapes. The trips to San Pedro de Atacama or Chiu Chiu that we took with my parents when we lived in Chuqui. The sea also inspires me, as I lived many years in Iquique where it felt like summer all year round, and we went to the beach a lot. My mom and her metaphysics and esoteric magic groups inspire me. My dad and his taste for good food and long dinners. My grandmother Bertina, her love for flowers, roses, her beautiful knitting, and a photo I have of her with a horse.
I believe my work has developed in a very organic way, especially recently, because it has been an exploration. I think it is subtle, delicate, and sensitive.
